Advice I would give for a student writing their first scilentific research paper.
Hi everyone it is the last week. Week 10 we came through an amazing journey together. The best advice I can give to a student about to write their first Scientific Research Paper and that is do not procrastinate. Sart the research on your topic as soon as possible. Also listen to your instructor and your classmates they are a wealth of information and ideas. It is a difficult task if you have not done a scientific research paper before. Use all of the materials provided by your professor and the use the Writing center it is a great resource to have. It is absolutely incredible feeling once you finish it and submit it to the drop box. Once you finish this paper you will be so relieved and exhausted having this paper and all the other things going on in you lives but it is so worth all the work you have done. I wish all of you the best with starting on your path to writing your first Scientific Research Paper.

WOW Week Nine
Hi everyone I cannot believe we have done 9 weeks of this class it is truly unbelievable that we all made it to the end of the quarter without any major tragedies. I truly am totally physically and emotionally drained at this point. My paper is done and submitted and truly thrilled that it came out as good as I think it did. I had my almost 9 year old daughter read the paper and she is a 3rd grader but works at a seventh grade level and she looked at me and said this is fantastic. She understood every word it truly amazed me. I am a little nervous now that I have my paper submitted It took me 4 times to submit it completely revised and abstract inluded. hopefully all will work out.I feel truly blessed to have had Dr. Manning as a Professor and all my classmates with all of their encouragement and support. It really helped me get through some pretty difficult obstacles this quarter. I am so thrilled about my writing now that I have taken this course. My idea of writing before this class was a chore now it is a stress and anxiety release and I absolutely love it. I truly wish everyone the best in their futures and hope to be in classes with you again. thank You Dr.M for the always being their.

Blogging after the course& how do I feel about the comments made to my blog
Hi everyone here we are at week eight. I can not believe this quarter is almost over. We all have come so far in our writing. I have truly enjoyed writing my blog and receiving comments even though I have not received a numerous amount of comments. The comments that I have received have been truly amazing. The support that I have received from this class on my blogging has been incredible. I will definitely continue to blog after the course is over. It really helps me get my anxiety and frustration out for the week. I love doing the blog and will continue to do so after the class.

Peer Reviews
Hi everyone,
Another great week of writing.I am so thrilled about learning to write better. I have no always had the best peer reviews. A school teacher did not like me because I told on him for deducting points from my papers and tests and I could prove that he was doing this in front of the class It was in high school and it was for Sociology. He did everything in his power to embarrass me in front of the class until one day the principal came in and heard him deduct points from my grade and I asked why what did do? He said you showed up for class. The principle stood up and told the teacher he needed to see him outside right then. The principle came back in and took over the class for the rest of that day and the teacher was suspended. My experiences for m my peers has been nothing but extremely positive and have gotten better grades on papers because I have listened to my peers. I really hope I get some crucial feedback to make my paper just that much better. I also love to give my opinion but it does make me feel guilty but now I realize I am not commenting on the person I am just commenting on the paper.I have learned so many writing techniques from this class and Dr. Manning is the best. She not only cares about us as students. She really gave me one of those aha moments today about my writing. I found out if I write for 20 minutes and take a break I get more accomplished. Since I have been so sick I was unable to get my Unit 6 project in by last night but I am proud to say after that aha moment this afternoon I was able to get it finished and placed it in the drop box. I am going to keep my fingers crossed that I have some good advice from all of some of my classmates and Dr.M. thank goodness I finshed that paper.

Personal challenges I have faced over the last 6 weeks
Hi everyone,
Here we are at week six. I chose to talk about the personal challenges I have faced over the last six weeks. I can only say that it has been extremely difficult between all of my daughter's issues and all of her appointments and all of my health issues and my appointments and trying to keep my grades up not an easy task. I have been dealing with pneumonia for the last three weeks and then the doctor told me that I also had Pleurisy. I have been in extreme pain and constantly coughing. I went to the doctor on Monday because I could not catch my breath he gave me a breathing treatment and it helped a little the doctor told me I had to get a blood test and a chest x-ray which I did. the chest x-ray came out clear but the lab work did not. He had me have a complete blood work up . My white blood cell count was up and the blood test that shows if you are at risk for a blood clot came back positive for a blood clot. When I went back to the doctor on Wednesday the doctor told me that I had to go to the emergency room and get an emergency CT Scan it came out that I did not have an blood clots in my lungs but it did show a mass on my adrenal gland pretty scary. When the nurses started my IV for the contrast of the CT Scan she used an 18 gauge needle really thick and hurt really bad. When the nurse took the IV she told me to hold my arm up really tightly and I did. all of a sudden I felt my arm slipping and it was wet covered in blood. I was bleeding out really fast luckily the nurse got heir quickly and was able to get the bleeding stopped. I feel like I got hit by a freight train and before I left the hospital the doctor told me I had to go see my doctor within 1-2 days so I went to the my doctor on Friday and waited for 2 1/2 hours and finally saw the doctor. He looked at me and asked if I was feeling better I said a little and he responded a little what is wrong I replied you tell me. He proceeded to tell me what they found was an incidental finding and any mass under 4cm was to be called a cyst. It turns out that I have a 2cm cyst on my adrenal gland what a relief. Here I was thinking I had Cancer because you hear mass and you automatically think negatively at least I do. So all I can say is Thank God for small miracles.

How is school infuencing me and academic challenges
Hi everyone another week of blogging. I love this This week I am going to tackle two of the topics. The first one is If there is one thing about your academic challenges what would it be? I think my biggest academic challenge is my health. School is going great but my health is not that would be my biggest challenge. I am diabetic and every virus or cold that comes by me I get it. This time I got pneumonia and it seems to be getting worse. I technically should be in the hospital but I can't be in the hospital because of school and my child. As far as school the last time I got hospitalized I was two weeks from being at the end of the quarter and I got stuck in the hospital for 42 days with an abscess in my neck and given a 10% chance of making it and was unable to log in to the computer after . 21 days I got dropped all because I do not have a laptop. I would totally go to the hospital this time if I had a laptop that way I would be able to continue with my work. My Second question is How is school influencing your life at or up to this point? School has had an extremely positive influence on me. I make sure all of my work is done on time and correct. I guess you could say it has made me a perfectionist. I not only want my school work to be perfect I want everything I do to be perfect and I am extremely hard on myself if it is not done. I just want to set a good example for my daughter. I want to show her what hard work will do for you when it comes to life and education.

Plagarism
Hi Everyone,
It is another week this week I chose to write about what if someone else used and took credit for something I did. When I was in culinary school I was in a class where we had to make presentation platters cold and hot for competitions. The class was called Garde Manage it dealt with making items for large platters how do decorate them how to do ice sculptures and also carving food into flowers and birds.. It was really cool any way we were teamed up with one other person as our teammate and we had to do a presentation platter of hot appetizers. We had a week to create recipes and make them and choose the platter and make a layout of the food items on the platter and then decorate it. The hardest thing about this was putting the food on the platter without making any marks on it if you did you needed to start over again. I came up with a recipe for one of the appetizers and a layout of the platter this platter was for a midterm grade. When it came around to presentation day the chef came around and looked at everyone's platter and then started sampling after that he asked questions. He came around to our team and looked at the presentation and tasted my appetizer and he said that the layout of the presentation was fantastic and definitely an A platter. I was ecstatic until my partner told the chef that he came up with the layout and the recipe for the appetizer that he liked most which I created. I was so mad at the time but I kept my mouth shut until after class. After class I went to the professor and told hem that I came up with the layout and came up with the recipe for the appetizer I showed him my recipe and drawing and he said I am glad you came forward and he would take care of it. It turned out that he went to my partner and failed is portion of the midterm but I still received an A for midterm grade. It does not pay to take someone else's work.

Being an Online student.
I love being an online student because it allows me to be at home to raise my daughter. I am not working at the moment because I am not able to with my daughter's current situation. I am waiting on referrals for her to have her tonsils out. I also woke up this weekend and I was now sick. I have pneumonia and I am diabetic. . I really like the fact that we have total control of what information we let out about ourselves. Kaplan University us the flexibility of when to take our classes. It makes it so much easier to have the flexibility to do the work from home and do it when you want as long as it is done within the school's week. I like being able to go back and listen to the lectures again if I need to. Kaplan provides you with so much help to to the best you can. I try and get most of my main work and discussion questions done all by Saturday except for responding to classmates. This allows me to work on the next week's work. I like being very organized and try to be prepared for the next week's classes. I think the way things are set up that it draws you closer to your class community. I have some of the best classmates. My classmates and professors are some of the most caring supportive people I have ever met. It is a joy to be a part of the Kaplan community. I hope everyone has a great week see you all in class and on the discussion boards.
